Organizing Memories
Tooooo Many Photos
When you were a kid, did you ever sit down with your family, on the living room floor, with PILES of 4x6 printed photos? Shoeboxes or those walmart sleeves just full of photos. It would take hours or even days to organize and put them into photo albums.
With everything being digital today, there are even more photos to look at, delete, and organize. It can be overwhelming.
If we break the process of organization down into smaller pieces, not only is it less overwhelming, BUT you get a recap of all the cool experiences you just had.
Month by Month
So how do we break down the process?
We’ll keep it super simple. Don’t wait until the end of the year, or the end of the decade to go through and organize your photos. Take it month by month. At the end of each month go through all the photos you took. Choose your favorites and delete the bad ones. You scroll endlessly on your phone anyways, why not scroll through your camera roll and clean it up?
(don’t tell me you don’t have time, aren’t you scrolling during those long bathroom breaks….)
You can turn these organized photos into a wall calendar, photo book, video montage, etc! These memories are important and should be cherished, not just living on your phone.
Where does the time go?!
Do you ever get to the end of the year and it was all a blur and you wonder - “What on earth happened this year?! What did I do?”. Well now you’ll know!
My husband and I make a wall calendar every year with images from the previous year. It’s a nice and easy way to take a trip down memory lane. I’m notorious for making the calendar too late, so we don’t usually have one until February… But this year I have been making a page at the end of each month. I’m finally going to have a January page next year!

What tools to use
Use whatever tools, programs, etc that is easiest for you. They don’t have to be fancy! I use shutterfly for my calendar and blurb for my photo books.
